MOLSON RANT

Hey,
I'm not a lumberjack, or a Fur trader.
I don't live in an igloo,
or eat blubber
or own a dogsled.
And I don't know Jimmy, Sally or Suzy from Canada,
although I'm certain they're really, really nice.

I have a prime minister... not a president,
I speak English and French, not American
and I pronounce it About, not A-boot.

I can proudly sew my country's flag on my backpack,
I believe in peacekeeping, not policing,
diversity not assimilation,
and that the beaver is a truly proud and noble animal.

A toque is a hat,
a chesterfield is a couch,
and it is pronounced Zed,
not Zee... ZED!!
Canada is the 2nd largest land mass,
the 1st nation of hockey,
and the best part of North America.

My name is Joe...
And I am Canadian!

What is a Canadian?

We are multicultural, we are all one, yet every man and culture is thier own.

We share common loves, hockey being a primary example, but if you dont like it that is fine too.

We do not wall ourselves in, we like to share ourselves with the world, we are proud of what we are and we want everyone to know it.

Some laugh at our accents, or accuse of use of being drunks who do nothing to help the world, but this bothers us little, because we know what we really are and that is what counts.

In the end, We Are Canadian. And that is all that matters.

I think Canada is a nice country since they heleped China a little during second world war.
The most Canadian people i know are very nice.
I think Canada is a better country than USA because Canada actually sell her resources to China and unlike America, Canada never started a war with China.( Canada might have taken part in Korea war, but it is mainly Americans the Chinese people fight.)

An other reason why i think Canadian people are nice is because that many Canadian people are nice toward Chinese immigrants which unlike the Amercians who are afrad that Chinese people would try to steal their jobs.

To me being Canadian does stick very close to the stereotypes. In my experience, Canadians are very nice people, I know some who do own dogsleds. I don't know a lot of people who speak French at a level past Grade 10. In my opinion, Canadians are stereotyped because our stereotypes are almost all positive, and the only time when those stereotypes are used to insult us are when people are jealous about how great Canada is. I always have to laugh when the high and mighty Americans have to call on Canada to help with their problems, like forest fires and peacekeeping in the Middle East. People may joke that Canadians are hick lumberjacks who drink beer all day, but hey, who wouldn't want to make a living by hitting stuff with axes and drinking the best beer in the world all day?

I am a lumberjack, and I could be a fur trader
I live in the woods, I play in the snow
I cannot skate, but I do shovel snow
snowshoes and toboggans are my tools
I cut trees and have fires
I go to school in a city
taffic is not new and busy streets and sidewalks are not uncommon
I know of world problems and of Canada's problems
I hunt and fish
I support our peacekeeping missions and condem active aggressive engagements
I have never tried a beavertail
je parle francais un peu
I respect other cultures
beer is for drinking and maple syrup comes from trees

I am canadian and I am awesome

I dont have a pet beaver, and I dont live in an igloo. I dont drink beer with my cereal, and Im not allowed to carry a gun wherever I go. But I do have the best health care, the best coffee, and the best beer in the world. I can survive three feet of snow on the highway, and forests full of grizzlies and moose. I can jump into icy glacier water from cliffs, and never look back. This is Canada, and I am Canadian. -Luke Bourque

To be Canadian,
Is to have the best beer around.
The best seasons, with 6 months of snow.
The best land, with the most resources,
To be able to say EH and DUDE,
And to have the most cultural diversity.
To be able to live redneck, and not in the city style,
To hold our flag high,
And not be American.

"We have more square feet of awesomeness per person than anywhere else in the world." We like what our stariotypes are but not what they mean. We are free and friendly with a sence of self pride. We have some of the greatest outdoors in the wolrd and we love it. The beaver is an awsome animal and is perfect to symbolize our country. The second largest land mass but not many people means we use our land for more cultural things than just big cities. The wildlife is the best in the world because its not unusual to see a moose in the middle of a city. Duck tape fixes everything.

To me, being Canadian is something to be proud of. We are peaceful and civil. True to the stereotype, we are also quite friendly. Our government is fair and our country is strong and free willed. Multiculturalism is a huge aspect of Canada and a very important part. It proves that every person can be themselves in Canada, regardless of skin colour, origin, or anything like that. We are all treated equally. That, is what I consider Canadian.

Hey,
I'm not a hockey player, and I don't drink beer.
I live in a regular house, and my pets are dogs, not beavers.
I don't ever say 'eh' and I don't have an accent.
Sure I'm a nice person, but that isn't because I'm from Canada, I just like to have friends.
I can't play lacrosse, and don't ski-doo. Although I'm sure its quite amusing.
I'm not a hick, or a farmer.
And I don't like the cold, I'm just forced to deal with it.
Canada is a fair country, our politics make sense.
We like our Prime Minister, most of us atleast.
We are not violent and we don't like wars.
We are Canadian, simple as that.

Hey,
I'm not a hockey star, or even like to watch hockey games.
I've never even seen a real beaver
or fished
or even tamed a polarbear.
And I don't live in an igloo but I do believe they are really cool.

But,
I do love the outdoors,
and I watch hockey even though I don't like to.
To me, being Canadian means being welcomed anywhere I go, with a knowing, accepting smile.
I feel safe, and loved, always.

Bacon and maple syrup are delicious and I wouldn't want to live without.
Where I live is cold, but I still play outside daily.
I camp and swim in cold lakes that cause a frigid chill to embark on a journey up my spine.

Being Canadian, there are many different definitions all are correct, even though diverse.
A lot like our country.

I am a part of a bigger united group of people, and I am proud.

People make fun of our accents, but we don't care! They think were drunks because we have the best beer, hockey is our best sport. We share our country with everyone! "I am Canadian"

Hey,

I don't ride a moose to school, or live in an igloo.

I don't play hockey and I can barely skate.

Everywhere I go, I see a different coloured face.

It seems I can speak more German then I can French, and I don't like maple syrup.

I've seen a real-life beaver but never had the want to cuddle with its fur.

I don't like beer and I don't eat bacon.

But,

My dad occasionally fishes and hunts, and he works in a mill.

Almost half the year there's snow on the ground and it never seems to get past 30 degrees.

I've been snowmobiling and canoeing, and even snowshoeing.

I always go camping and come home smelling of smoke from the fire.

I always watch hockey and even say "eh".

Because, I am Canadian.

We accept people from other countries and we treat them with respect.
We don't live in igloos.
We speak more than one language and we don't have beavers as pets.
We don't use monopoly money
or wear snow shoes.
We own hockey and we invented basketball.
We don't ride polar bears around.

Hey,

I live in the most abundant and beautiful country. We have four seasons and not just snow. We have mountains, plains, forests and deserts.

My country is free and diverse,
and we have the best helthcare.
My country has the best peace keepers and we don't like war.

I celebrate my nation on July 1st not the 4th of July. We make the best Maple Syrup and we are the best at hockey.

I am proud! I am CANADIAN!

Hey,
I don't ride a dog sled to school,
or a tractor,
or have a polar bear.
I don't hunt deer with my ice axe,
although it would be fun.

I didn't have bacon or maple syrup for breakfast
and my dad is not a mounty.

I do play hockey on a frozen pond,
and drink beer by the fire.
I believe camping is not just survival
it's a hobby.

I did pass Tim Horton's on way to school,
twice,
and have had to stop for a moose at the stoplights.

I wore red and white on my face and high fived my buddies
when Crosby scored during Vancouver 2010.

I am proud of what I am.
My name is Corinna
and I am Canadian.
Eh?

When I think of myself being canadian, I feel proud of who i am and where I come from. I understand the freedom we are given and try not to take things for granted. I feel that we are sometimes set apart from the rest of the world, but I in NO way feel that I am superior. I like to lend a helping hand whenever possible and hate to see people struggle. I don't play hockey, but i believe it is important to be active and outside, and also to enjoy the beautiful landscape that we can proudly call our home.

A candian is somebody that is proud of their country and fights to help others,
we smile when we see beavers because those goofy animals are the a part of what made us...well us,
we don't all say "eh" at the end of our sentence, and not very many of us live in igloos,
we are about community not power.
we are proud,
We are Canadian!

Hello,
I'm not an eskimo, or a fisherman,
and I don't work in a brewery,
or drink maple syrup,
or own a husky.
I don't know everyone in my city,
which isn't made of ice and igloos.
I don't ride a moose to school,
or snowshoe to Tim Horton's.
I believe that pop is just as good as soda,
and couches are just the same as sofas.
I believe in mountains and valleys,
in forests and high-rises,
in hunting for lunch
and going to potlucks for dinner.
I am proud of that for which we are known;
for saying, "Thank you,"
for making great beer,
and for having some of the world's
most beautiful scenery in our own backyards.
I know that as a country we have far to go,
but I am proud of the steps,
if not small,
that we are taking
to be better for ourselves
and for the world.
I am Black, I am White,
I am different,
I am a puzzle piece,
I have the privilege to be part
of this beautiful edge of the universe.
I am Canadian,
and I am proud.

I am a Canadian.

I may be white, brown, black, maybe even purple.
Maybe Christian, Buddhist, Hindu or Sikh.
I am not limited.
I am accepted for who I am.
In my country, we are encouraged to share our culture.

I do not live in Tim Horton's, nor do I ride a polar bear to school.
I may speak English, French, Chinese, Spanish.
I am still accepted, and I will still go to school and learn just like everyone else.

I do not live in an igloo, nor is my house powered by snow.
I believe in multicultural friendships and keeping peace.
I do not support war, but I believe in security.

I don't play hockey, but I'm always up for watching a good game.
I do not worship the beaver, but I think he's a respectable animal.
My name is Sarah, and I love Canada!
